Dave's Background
When they wanted a singer worthy of Mrs. Frank Sinatra, they insisted on someone who naturally mirrored the sound and essence of her late husband. For Barbara Sinatra, there was only one option: Dave Halston.
Musically speaking, Dave was classically trained as a violinist. As a youth, he played in the Dallas Junior Symphony. And, as a member of a string ensemble, he placed in several national competitions. As a college student, Dave challenged himself to sing. And, after a rigorous series of auditions, he was selected to tour with the highly acclaimed Singing Cadets of Texas A&M University.
In his early career, Dave refined his vocal skills as a radio disc jockey. And that energetic, creative environment opened the door to a successful 30-year career in advertising and marketing. In fact, by the time Dave decided to retire from his corporate life and pursue music full time, he was serving the medical device industry as Director of Marketing for a leading Fortune 500 company.
Today, Dave is doing what he loves most – performing those unforgettable songs with a remarkable similarity to Sinatra. In fact, according to one music industry survey, Dave Halston is the nation’s top rated Sinatra vocalists. His brilliant Tribute to Sinatra and his audacious Rat Pack tribute shows are top-rated in the nation! Not only has Dave delivered command performances for Mrs. Frank Sinatra, he has also entertained Jeanne Martin (Dean's widow), Michael Feinstein and Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton.
